Montague Seed Library

The Seed Library at the Montague Branch has been a feature of the library for some time, but fell by the wayside during the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts were made to revitalize the program starting in 2024, and since then over 650 seed packets have been checked out! It offers a variety of different vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers to be "checked out" to the public, with the idea that come the end of the season, participants will collect a portion of seeds from their harvest to donate back to the library to keep the seed library going. Every year, our seed library participates in the One Seed One State initiative, which connects all the seed libraries in Michigan by making the same seed available at every location. This year is 'Pacific Beaty Mix' Calendula! Stop in today to grab your own packet!
