- Visit a Seed Library Branch (Egleston, Montague, Muskegon Heights, North Muskegon, and Ravenna Branches)
- Pick up to 5 seed packets to take home.
- Stop at the front desk and let staff know how many packets you are taking home.
- Take seeds home and plant them!
Need some resources on gardening, check out these books.
Bonus: if you enjoyed what you grew, feel free to try your hand at seed saving. To participate we ask that you save seeds for the seed library as well as yourself. The seeds will go back into the seed library for others.
The more seeds that are returned, the more people who benefit.
Seed saving is important because you:
- Make seeds that grow more pest resistant.
- Grow plants that are more pest resistant.
- Save money on seeds, plants, and your food budget.
- Know where your food is coming from.
By saving seeds and bringing them back, you help your community stay strong. if you already save seeds consider giving to our seed exchange.
