A Word from the Director

Over the past several years, MADL has experienced growth in nearly every area. From the number of checkouts to visits at our 11 locations, community support has been incredible. When we were working on the millage campaign last summer, we worked hard to ensure the Library would be able to continue meeting the needs of Muskegon County for the years to come. I am happy to share MADL’s new hours, beginning January 2026.

Looking at the number of checkouts, visits and programs over the last 24 months, it became clear where additional hours of service could support even greater community use. We also took a close look at where our libraries are located and how members of our community frequently visit multiple libraries for any number of reasons. While a location like Muskegon Township has slightly reduced numbers, its close neighbor, Egelston Township Branch, has additional, weekend hours. At MADL, we believe it is our responsibility to provide the most effective, efficient and cost productive service possible.

As 2025 comes to a close, all of us at MADL look forward to serving you in the new year. Looking forward to seeing you at the Library very soon!
