Muskegon Area Bike Library (MABL)

MABL (Muskegon Area Bike Library) is a lending program at Muskegon Heights Branch that offers bike checkouts to Muskegon Area District Library (MADL) and Hackley Public Library card holders. MABL FAQs

  • MABL (Muskegon Area Bike Library) is a new lending program at Muskegon Heights Branch Library that offers bike checkouts to MADL and Hackley Public Library card holders.

  • Bikes will be available to put on hold beginning the first Monday of June every year.

    1. Bring your MADL library card to the Muskegon Heights Branch. If you're under 18, make sure you come with your guardian!
    2. Stop by the front desk at Muskegon Heights branch and chat with our friendly library staff. They’ll be excited to help you find the perfect bike size and reserve one just for you!
    3. You will be required to watch a brief bike safety video and sign a waiver before your bike can be placed on hold.
    4. Some bikes are available for pickup same day. If there are none available, in 2-3 business days you will receive a notice that a bike is available for pickup.
    5. Swing by the library to pick up your bike, helmet, and lock.
  • We kindly ask for a $5 donation to support the cause, though no payment is required to check out a bike.

  • Bikes will be available to put on hold beginning the first Monday of June, and they are due back until October.

  • All MADL and Hackley Public Library card holders can get a bike. We will have a variety of sizes for children and adults!

  • All bikes will come with a helmet and bike lock.
