Our Library of Things items are reservable by MADL, Hackley, and White Lake card holders only. All items must be picked up at a MADL branch.

General Questions
Yes, MADL does accept donations that fit the needs of the collection. Please fill out the donation form, and our collection development specialist will contact you.
Per policy 603.8: “The library retains unconditional ownership of all donations and makes the final decision on acceptance, use, or disposition of donated material. No conditions may be imposed on any donated item accepted by the library. The appraisal of the gift for tax purposes is the responsibility of the donor and cannot be provided by the library.”
All donated items should be in new or like-new condition, and in good working order. While we will consider a variety of items that may enhance the Library of Things collection, we are particularly interested in the following items:

- Chess set (full size)
- Dominoes set
- Games (complete sets, in new or like-new condition)
- Guitars
- Guitar Amps
- Video Game Controllers
- Hand weights (exercise equipment)
- Label maker (Brother p-touch)
- "Lovevery" Toy Sets
- Magnetic tiles set (toy)
- Marble run
- Metal Detectors
- Microscope
- Paper shredder
- Rock tumbler
- Sewing machine (portable, recent model)
- Tool sets
- TI-84 graphing calculators
- VCR-VHS-DVD player
- Xylophone
Items that we are not interested in include:

- Most kitchen items
- Personal hygiene items
- Medical devices
- Walkers or crutches
- Oversized items
- Outdoor lawn and garden tools that require cleaning after use
- Items that are gas or propane-powered
