MADL does not charge overdue fines on materials (books, movies, music, etc.). Library patrons will still be responsible for the replacement cost of items that are lost or damaged.

The Michigan Electronic Library Catalog, abbreviated MeLCat, is a statewide catalog that allows MADL patrons to borrow interlibrary loan books from Library systems throughout Michigan.

MADL cardholders who request items through MeLCat are able to have these books delivered to their home MADL branch. Delivery time for MeLCat may be two to three weeks.

To be able to get a library card, you need to live (or own property) in our service area which covers most of Muskegon County. The exceptions are the City of Muskegon, Whitehall, and the Village and Township of Fruitport.
