Hoopla FAQ
-
Hoopla is a pay-per-use service; instead of owning the content in Hoopla, the library pays for each individual download. The monthly download limit ensures patrons can fairly access this high-value, high-cost service, which offers an extensive collection of recently released materials.
-
If you are receiving this error, there is most likely nothing wrong with the service or your account. Hoopla is very popular and our patrons have reached our checkout limit for the day. When a patron borrows materials from Hoopla, MADL must pay a set dollar amount depending on the type of material for every single item checked out. MADL has a dollar limit set every day for materials that can be borrowed by patrons across the whole MADL system. Once the limit has been reached for the day, patrons can no longer check out items for that day. The daily borrow limit resets at midnight every night. We encourage you to try again another day or try one of our many other online resources such as Libby, Freegal, and Kanopy.Â
