What is “Silent Book Club”?!

We get many questions about this mysterious book club.  How can a book club be silent?  Isn't the point of book club to talk about books?  Well we here in the MADLverse think that libraries are for everyone, and so of course, are book clubs!  Even if you've always wanted to join a book club but your inner-introvert talks you out of it, or if you are very busy person who is also a reader this book club is perfect for you. Shy people, reading commitment-phobes, or anyone that wants to hang out-this book club is for YOU.

How it works:

Simply show up at 3 pm on the 3rd Friday of the Month at Legal Grounds Coffee House at 255 Seminole Rd.  Take a second to find where we're meeting up and say hi!  Then off you go to grab yourself a delicious beverage.  Silent reading with whatever book you want will begin at 3:30. We read for an hour (silently of course).  Once the hour is up you are free to stay and

chat to your fellow readers about what you are reading, recommend books by filling out one of our recommendation cards or, if that's enough socializing for the day for you, you are free to leave.  Even if you don't stay there is something about congregating with other bookworms that is just..... nice.

Fun fact: Silent Book Club is a global community of readers with 2,200 chapters in 60+ countries.  SBC just celebrated 10 years of bringing readers together and one of the founding members is from right here in Norton Shores!

Next meetup: Friday Feb 20th @ 3 pm.  Stop by, find the Silent Book Club table and say hi.  We'd love to have you!
